Woman Hit By SUV In Howard County, Police Seek Public's Help
A 35-year-old woman was the victim of a hit-and-run Sunday night near the southbound I-95 rest area, reports the Maryland State Police.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — At approximately 9:25 p.m. Sunday, a 35-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle as she attempted to cross southbound I-95 in the vicinity of the rest area in order to reach the northbound rest area. She was struck in the left lane by an SUV, according to the Maryland State Police, which promptly left the scene. Officers now are asking the public for help in locating the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.
Troopers from the Maryland State Police Waterloo Barrack and Howard County Department of Fire Rescue Services responded to the incident. Troopers believe the suspect vehicle is a black Jeep Cherokee, according to a police report.
The victim was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment. The case remains under investigation by the Maryland State Police Crash Team. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Maryland State Police Waterloo Barrack at 410-379-9700.
