CROFTON, MD (September 23, 2026) &ndash;<a href="https://www.d1sportstraining.com/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">D1 Training</a>, a leading fitness enrichment concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, will celebrate the grand opening of its new Crofton facility on October 3. Located at 982 Waugh Chapel Way, Units A &amp; B, the new group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals. 
In celebration of the new location&rsquo;s launch, Crofton neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility&rsquo;s team at its grand opening event on Saturday, October 3, which will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony with the local chamber of commerce, free community workouts, facility tours, live training demonstrations, and giveaways, along with special one day only membership pricing and training packages. 
D1 Training Crofton is locally owned and operated by Michele Schmidt, who will join a roster of impressive existing franchisees, including former professional and collegiate athletes. Additional D1 partners include NBA star Chris Paul and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.
Schmidt is a proud Maryland native who spent most of her career as a licensed real estate agent. She runs her own real estate business and built her career serving her community. Looking for something that tied into her own core values of faith, family, and community, Schmidt found her perfect match with D1 training to help her community members build confidence and train with intention. 
&ldquo;As someone who has spent my career serving the Anne Arundel County community, I was looking for my next opportunity that would allow me to make a meaningful impact in people&rsquo;s lives,&rdquo; said Schmidt. &ldquo;Whether in real estate or fitness, my goal has always been to help people achieve their goals and feel supported along the way. I can&rsquo;t wait to welcome athletes and families into a space where they can grow and thrive together.&rdquo;
D1 Training offers four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers group, semi-private, and one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or fitness goals, regardless of age, or athletic background.
