Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Its mission is to create opportunities that allow individuals to enjoy life, explore nature, and restore their health and well-being. Dash In celebrates the grand opening of its newest Bowie, Maryland, location bringing its elevated convenience store and car wash experience to Greater Washington, D.C.
As part of the celebration, Dash In will donate a total of $19,000 to local community organizations, reinforcing its commitment to the Bowie community. The two-day event - May 21 and May 22 - will feature Dash In’s signature “First Cut” ceremony, complimentary food tastings from Dash In’s made-to-order menu, free car washes, live entertainment, giveaways, and opportunities for guests to enroll in Dash In Rewards. Guests will also have the chance to enter to win 50 cents off fuel per gallon for one year.

Please join us as we honor our fallen military service members during the Memorial Day commemoration ceremony at Crownsville State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, May 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.&nbsp; Crownsville Veterans Cemetery is located at 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032.The featured guest speaker for the ceremony will be Command Sgt. Maj. Richard Moore, garrison command sergeant major at Fort Meade, MD.&nbsp; Patriotic music will be performed by The Maryland Defense Force Band.&nbsp; Refreshments after the program will be provided by American Legion Post #7 located at 1905 Crownsville Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401.
