Croftonite Wins 2011 SAVE Award
Matthew Ritsko's award winning idea may someday save the country time, money and resources.
We all have great ideas on how to save the country money, but how many of us can say they talk with the president about it?
Crofton’s Matthew Ritsko had a chance to present his idea to President Barack Obama via video conference. It was part of the 2011 SAVE Awards contest.
He beat out more than 20,000 ideas to win the 2011 SAVE Award. According to the Office of Management and Budget, more then 48,000 votes were cast in the federal contest.

Ritsko is a NASA Goddard Space Flight Center financial manager. He developed an idea for a centralized tool repository—or “lending library”—where these tools can be stored, catalogued and checked in and out by NASA employees.
The White House website posted the 20-minute teleconference.
