Las Vegas Shooting: Crofton Victim's Family Gets Almost $500,000 In Donations
A graduate of Arundel HS, she was shot in the head and is recovering. A family friend's GoFundMe page has raised almost $500,000 for her.

CROFTON, MD — While a Crofton native and graduate of Arundel High School who was shot in the head in the Las Vegas mass shooting is in the hospital and recovering, a family friend has raised nearly $500,000 from generous donors for costs related to her injuries. Tina Frost, who graduated from Arundel in 2008, was shot in her right eye. The bullet lodged there.
Gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada, massacred 59 concert-goers and left another 500-plus injured under the glitz of the Las Vegas Strip Sunday on the third night of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival, as country music star Jason Aldean performed. Paddock was perched 32 floors above the festival in room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
Frost's family set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to "cover all expenses related to this tragic event such as traveling, food, hotels, missed work, and caring for Tina," the page says.

The day after the shooting, doctors placed Frost in a coma, removed her right eye where the bullet was lodged and removed a piece of bone from her forehead to allow swelling.
As of Sunday, Oct. 8, Tina was stable. She had a tracheotomy to help her breath, which she's still struggling with. Her family said on the GoFundMe page that the hospital staff has been "just amazing and everyone truly cares about our Tina."
The GoFundMe page had a fundraising goal of $50,000, but they've received almost ten times that in only six days. "Remember this is baby steps and there are going to be steps back, but we are being strong like Tina," it said.
