Severn Man Facing 17 Charges After Shooting At Car: Court Docs

SEVERN, MD — Aaron Acors, a 48-year-old Severn man, was charged with 17 offenses over the weekend after police say he shot at a car leaving a community.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said the shooting incident occurred Sunday on the 1800 block of Severn Hills Lane. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 9:30 p.m.

At the scene, officers learned that Acors had been inside a pickup truck when he shot at a car that was exiting the Severn Hills neighborhood.

A perimeter was later established around Acors' home until members of the department's Quick Response Team were able to retrieve him.

Police have not detailed a motive in the shooting or indicated whether Acors was familiar with the driver he shot toward.

Court records show Acors was charged with five felonies — second-degree attempted murder and four counts of first-degree assault — and 12 misdemeanors.

The misdemeanor offenses included reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, malicious destruction of property and felony use of a firearm.

Acors remains held without bond. A bail hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
