CROFTON, MD — Tina Frost, the Arundel High School graduate and Crofton native who was shot at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, underwent a second surgery Thursday at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore to help reconstruct her skull and help prevent infection, the family says. Frost, 27, is a 2008 graduate of Arundel High School. She was shot in the right eye, which doctors removed in surgery in Las Vegas.

A GoFundMe page was set up by the family to "cover all expenses related to this tragic event such as traveling, food, hotels, missed work, and caring for Tina," the page says. Frost had traveled to the country music festival with her boyfriend from San Diego, where she works for an accounting firm.

Frost was flown on a medical transport jet and admitted to Johns Hopkins Sunday evening, Oct. 15, to continue her recovery close to her family, her mother, Mary Watson Moreland, wrote.

"Tina’s second surgery was a success," the family posted Thursday. …"They were glad that they had the surgery today so they could see everything and get an overall picture. Tina will be having several more surgeries for the reconstruction and there are many more steps involved over the next weeks and months. On another note, Tina took 163 steps yesterday, smiles sometimes, hugs her dad and puckers her lips for Austin!"

Occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy are all working with Frost, whom her family called "a true warrior."
