• Damascus Library scheduled to reopen in November with renovated space (mymcmedia.org) — Damascus residents can look forward to their renovated public library reopening in November 2026, with new study spaces, modernized interiors, and upgraded systems. The project is part of a countywide, multi-year library refurbishment plan, and Damascus has also secured more than $1.4 million in state aid to support the work.
   

• Armed Robbery, School Threat and Auto Thefts Included in August 24 Crime Summary (mocoshow.com) — Montgomery County Police reported several serious incidents from Monday, August 24, including an auto theft in the 5th District, which covers Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus. While most reports came from other parts of the county, this summary helps Damascus residents track nearby crime trends and stay alert to vehicle thefts and other offenses in surrounding neighborhoods.
