Arc Baltimore Honors Athenathaus

The Arc Baltimore has presented its Special Appreciation Award for 2013 to East Baltimore resident Nick Athenathaus. Athenathaus has been a foodservice supplier to The Arc for years, but is far more than just a vendor. When The Arc’s Dundalk Center was threatened by a potential power outage from a threatening hurricane, Nick sent a refrigerated truck and several of his employees to the center to move all perishables into the truck until the storm was over and power returned. Last year, Nick was able to recommend The Arc for a donation from a camp in Frederick that he had been supplying all summer. Nick brought five pallets of food for Dundalk and stored some of it himself because there wasn’t enough space. Nick also sponsors The Arc’s Annual Golf Tournament and Art in the Round.
