Police: Chemical Irritant Used in Parkville Bank Robbery
The suspect was in custody Monday morning, Baltimore County police said.
Officials are investigatingย an armedย robbery at Parkville'sย Bay Bankย in which a man held up a security guard Monday morningย andย made off with his bag, prompting theย security guard to fire a weapon,ย theย Baltimore County Police Departmentย reported.
At 9:30 a.m., a Dunbar security guard ย was leaving the bankโlocated in the 1700 block of East Joppa Roadโwhen he was accostedย in the vestibule byย a man armed with a chemical irritant, police said.
After a physical struggle outside the bank, the suspect took a bag from the guard, according to the report.

The guardย fired one shot in the suspect's direction as he fled, the report stated.
Before 10 a.m., theย Baltimore County Police Departmentย said it had a man in custody. It reported later that officialsย were continuing toย question the individual Monday afternoon. Charges have not been filed, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.
