Building Evacuated In Dundalk After Threat: Police

One person was hospitalized after a four-hour barricade in the Dundalk precinct on Monday, Baltimore County police reported.

DUNDALK, MD — A building was evacuated in the Dundalk precinct Monday while officials negotiated with a person in crisis, police said. After a four-hour standoff involving threats to blow up the building, the man jumped and was hospitalized, official said in a statement around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3.

The building on Shipping Place was evacuated, police said, while crisis negotiators responded to the scene along with tactical crews. The man in crisis had barricated himself inside a third-story apartment, police reported.

Authorities said he threatened to blow up the building and take his own life.

After a four-hour standoff, officials said he threw the contents of the apartment out the window and jumped.

The man is in serious condition and is expected to survive after being taken to a local hospital, police said.
