2 Men Charged Over Dundalk Home Invasion: Police

DUNDALK, MD — Two men are facing multiple charges in connection with a Dundalk home invasion that saw one man stabbed and another shot Friday afternoon.

The Baltimore County Police Department said Monday that 24-year-old Jamel Southall and 56-year-old Darnell Willis were charged for the shooting on the 3500 block of McShane Way.

Court records show Southall, a Baltimore resident, is facing four charges, including home invasion, first-degree burglary, third-degree burglary and fourth-degree burglary of a dwelling.

Willis, a Dundalk man, was charged with 10 counts that include first-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, and use of a firearm by a convicted felon, among other gun-related charges.

Officers were first called to the Dundalk scene Friday around 3:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

However, once on scene, officials determined that not only was a 41-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, but that a 56-year-old man had also been stabbed.

Both men were hospitalized, and police described the gunshot injury as life-threatening. It's unclear whether the stabbed individual was Willis.

Investigations say there is no active threat to the community, and that the incident was isolated.

While Southall is scheduled to appear for a preliminary court hearing on Sept. 18, Willis is booked for a bail hearing on Tuesday. Both men remain held without bond.
