Confirmed Coronavirus Case Total In Baltimore County At 15,479

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — As of Monday, Baltimore County has a total of 15,479 positive new coronavirus cases, according to the Baltimore County Health Department, and 579 deaths. The state has 108,249 confirmed cases and 3,612 deaths total, reports the Maryland Department of Health. More than 14,303 people have been hospitalized.

The number of confirmed cases in Baltimore County nursing homes stands at 1,653. The number of death cases in Baltimore County nursing homes is at 215.

The following zip codes have the highest confirmed case counts in Baltimore County as of Aug. 31:

• 21234 with 1,119 cases
• 21222 with 1,122 cases
• 21228 with 1,040 cases
• 21117 with 1,034 cases
• 21207 with 939 cases

The county health department has its own website created to monitor the situation, broken down by new cases per day and other data.

The CDC advises doing the following to stop the spread of the virus:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If this is not available, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60 percent alcohol.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
• Keep 6 feet of space between people.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
