Crash In Dundalk Was Fatal For Pedestrian: Police

Police said the pedestrian was pronounced deceased weeks after a crash in Dundalk with a truck mirror.

DUNDALK, MD โ€” Police said a man died two weeks after a crash in Dundalk. He had been crossing the street when he was hit by a truck mirror on Feb. 15, officials reported.

Charles George Swigert, 70, of the 6700 block of Holabird Avenue, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center as a result of the crash, police said. He was pronounced deceased before 11 a.m. on March 1, according to authorities.

Police said Swigert was hit by the side mirror of a Dodge Ram while crossing Dundalk Avenue, about 100 feet south of Center Place.

Officials with the Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team are still looking into the collision. They reported Friday that investigators did not believe that impairment factored into the crash.
