Dundalk Man Posed as Officer, Raped Prostitute: Police
A Dundalk man tried to con prostitutes into having sex with him to avoid being arrested, authorities say.

DUNDALK, MD β A Dundalk man has been charged with rape and other offenses in connection with impersonating a police officer and sexually assaulting two women, according to police.
Brian Keith Cooper Jr., 30, of the 2000 block of Bear Ridge Road, has never been employed as a police officer, but he told two prostitutes that he was and would let them go in exchange for sexual favors, the Baltimore County Police Department reported.
The first incident happened around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, in the area of Graceland Avenue at Dundalk Avenue, where a woman was soliciting sex, according to police.

Cooper picked her up and drove her to Crafton Avenue, where they got out of the car, he produced a badge and handcuffs and told her he was a Baltimore County police officer, then asked what she would do to stay out of jail, police reported.
Police allege Cooper raped the woman, who was scared to cry out for help. Authorities were notified the following day when the 25-year-old woman went to a hospital, according to police.

The second incident occurred one week later, around the same time, in the same area.
Officials said a suspicious vehicle was reported on Crafton Avenue at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28. When police responded, a 34-year-old woman in the car told authorities that Cooper picked her up on Dundalk Avenue and drove to Crafton Avenue, where he got out and said he was a police officer deciding whether to arrest her before getting back in the vehicle and telling her he would let her go in exchange for a sexual favor, according to police.
Officials said a badge and handcuffs were recovered.
Cooper is charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense, two counts of impersonating an officer and two counts of second-degree assault, court records show.
He was released on $350,000 bail, police said.
