National Maritime Day Observation

National Maritime Day Planning Committee for the Port of Baltimore has scheduled a National Maritime Day Observance and Maritime Expo & Career Fair on Saturday May 18th from 1000 to 1500 at Canton Pier 13, 4601 Newgate Street.  At 1100 we are planning a brief National Maritime Day ceremony and Wreath Laying aboard the NS Savannah and Senator Barbara Mikulski is the keynote speaker.

Tentatively we are hosting twenty-eight POB businesses who will display how their company relates to the port.  Along with the displays there will be several boats (police, fire, CG, USACE, Kings Point vessels, tugs etc.) along with the NS Savannah open for tours.  This is the only day the NS Savannah is open for public tours.

This event (free both participants and guests) will showcase the companies and careers that make the Port of Baltimore the economic heart of Maryland.  This will be a great opportunity to learn about the port and to educate the general public and students who will be visiting.
