Fireworks before the Fourth
Former Governor Ehrlich attends Crandell fundraiser while Democrats rally the troops

Just to be clear, βthe fourthβ that is referenced in the headline is not Independence Day, although it could seem that way depending on how you cast your ballot.
Rather, the fourth refers to November 4, which is Election Day here in Maryland. And leading up to Tuesdayβs follies are plenty of fireworks from both sides of the political spectrum.
On the Republican site, former Governor Bob Ehrlich attended a fundraiser for Council Candidate Todd Crandell and, judging by the photo, there were some serious issues being discussed at the event. The information I received said a packed house showed up to support Mr. Crandell in his election bid.

Just to give you some background, I actually was raised a Democrat. However, I became disillusioned with the partyβs directionβnot only in this community, but throughout the state and across the country. To me, it seems as though the Dems are willing to do anything to stay in power.
Case in pointβthe party preaches about equality, yet Dutch Ruppersberger lives in a gated community and Nancy Pelosi flies all over the country at taxpayer expense in a jet with a fully stocked bar.

Wait, isnβt she the one who said, βWeβll have to read it to see whatβs in it,β folks? But I digress.
Meanwhile, Governor OβMalley has taxed us to death and created a sanctuary state where more than 42% of our citizens and non-citizens alike receive government assistance. Additionally, we have the largest area of Section 8 in the county thanks to our βleaders.β
To say that Iβm unhappy with what the Dems have done to our 7th District is an understatement.
I read Ben Boehlβs article in the Eagle where the Dems are rallying the troops as the day of reckoning nears. What is surprising to me, and what should be surprising to those who support the tax and spend party, is that itβs like watching a segment of the Walking Dead.
Allow me to explain that comment. How many years have we been lead down the road to the same inevitable end? How many jobs must be lost before people wake up? How many lies can Dems tell before the voters understand that we are paying the freight for many that donβt even take the time to vote?
Letβs look at Benβs article and study it, shall we?
Again, I will mention Dutch and his house in the gated community. Do you think he feels the pain or the lower and/or middle class? He started the Section 8 program when he was the County Executive. He catered to developers and, when that failed him, Jim Smith used the taxpayerβs money to do the developersβ bidding.
Dutchβs famous Senate βBill of Eminent Domainβ went down in flames. Dutch says that he supports our vets, but watch this video and tell me if that is really the truth as I interviewed him on Fort Howard.
Now when he says he is βnot sure of the statusβ (or if there is a Santa Claus), just read this article in the Eagle or the half a dozen or so that I wroteβand sent to Dutchβs office.

Does this sound like the Congressman is out of the loop, or that he has no clue as to what is going on? Does this sound like he supports our wounded warriors when simply by age most donβt qualify for the housing project? Do the words βfibβ or βmisinformationβ (to put it mildly) come to mind?
To use an old phrase, βYouβre darn tootinβ.β
John Olszewski Sr. has said that we should cast our votes for all Dems. Does he think we are all mindless robots? He attacks Mr. Crandellβs integrity, but who was the one brought up on ethics charges by a commission that has done only one investigation in ten years? Iβll have a column on that one.
I remember the night that both Mr. DiCara and his son approached me and said if that if Mr. DiCara got elected he would be βKamenetzβs worst nightmare.β
Well, Mr. Kamenetz and Mr. DiCara must have reconciled, because Mr. DiCara just took $2,000 from Mr. Kamenetz, as well as $1,000 from Mr. Olszewski Sr.
Oh, but Mr. DiCara sings the praises of Mr. Olszewski Sr. βThis man β¦ got $100 million for a school of the future,β Mr. DiCara noted. βIt is like winning the Olympics. It is unbelievable.β
I wouldnβt yell that too loud, Mr. DiCara. After all, some of the lowest performing schools are right in our district, according to the Eagle. Dundalk Highβall $120 million of itβdid not meet its achievement gap or goals. Is that surprising when students in our area can get completely unruly in the classroom (an act I cannot describe and it did not occur at Dundalk High), challenge the teachers, run out the door completely out of control and have to be taken away by the cops, only to return the next day?
As Mr. Ripley said, βBelieve it or not.β
The problem is that we have a school board that knows only one lessonβthe study of PC (politically correct) behavior. Nobody dares to challenge Dr. Dance, who is the leader of this insanity.
I love this quote from a man who also misspoke to me about the truth when the article said, βStaigerwald agreed that it is time for Democrats to come together and support their nominee.β
Folks, if I had my way, Iβd vote every darn one of them out of office and slam the door behind them.
To put it bluntly, of course.
The Dems have already taken enough our money while leading this district to the verge of collapse. You may think that being the poorest district in the county is a move in the right direction after years and years of Democratic dictatorship, but I certainly do not. And, hopefully, enough people who go to the polls on Tuesday feel the same way.
However, if you are one of those staunch supporters of the βtax and spend party,β you may have a bright future, as the Walking Dead may have a role for you.
Note: I have been reading that Jake Mohorovic is standing up to the status quo and I give him credit for that. Iβm reading good things about his independent stance on various issues.
On a sad note I heard that Steve Matrazzoβs mother passed away. My sincere condolences to the Matrazzo family.
