Man Flown from Fall at Waste Treatment Plant

Public safety officials say man was injured when he fell into a pit Friday morning at the waste treatment plant.

A man was flown to shock trauma after falling into a pit at the waste treatment plant on Eastern Avenue Friday morning, according to Baltimore County police and fire officials.

At 7:50 a.m. on Friday, a worker at the waste treatment plant in the 8200 block of Eastern Avenue fell from a Bobcat into a shallow pit, officials reported.

The bucket of the Bobcat began to rise, injuring the man, who fell into a grit tank containing sludge, according to the report.

The worker was removed from the pit, the report said. A medevac took him to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to officials.
