“Our mom was an inspiration to many but she inspired us to make a difference in the lives of children as she had done for decades. She was always trying to better the lives of children. I know that she would have loved nothing more but to have money raised in her name to benefit pediatric oncology patients” said Winter’s youngest daughter, Emily Winter.

Winter lost her hard battle to colon cancer last November. She fought hard and strong for over four years prior. Winter was an active member in the community. She spent her nights as the dedicated chairperson for Rosedale Dance and the Vice President of Rosedale Recreation. During the day, she was a beloved instructional assistant at Red House Run Elementary School. In her free time she was either the costumer for local theatre productions or singing in her band, “Collage.” She was known an inspiration to many and is greatly missed.
