Shopping Center Update at Norwood-Holabird Meeting
The Norwood-Holarbird Community Association Meeting scheduled for Monday will address shopping center and code enforcement issues, and the ongoing construction at Dundalk High.

The Norwood-Holabird Community Association meeting Monday night will address several key local issues, including information on plans for the Merritt Park Shopping Center, which recently changed hands.
Also on the agenda are code enforcement issues related to the growing rat infestation problems in Dundalk, as well as an update on construction of the and Sollers Point Technical School.
"This is a very important and informative meeting," said John Ayres, president of the Norwood-Holabird Community Association.

Ayres said Peter Grose, vice president of Regional Management, which is overseeing the of the Merritt Park Shopping Center, will attend the meeting to present current plans for the center, which had fallen into disrepair in recent years.
"The lease for the shopping center ended Sept. 1 after being signed in August of 1961," Ayres said. "This is going to be the highlight of the community."

Ayres noted that a couple of the businesses required to move from the shopping center because of the development project have already reinvested in the community and reopened nearby. He also noted that Baltimore County Savings Bank officials on a permanent, freestanding bank branch across the street from the Meritt Park Shopping Center on Holabird Avenue.
, chief of code enforcement for Baltimore County, has also confirmed for the meeting, Ayres said.
Dundalk High School principal and Debbie Smith, president of the Dundalk High School Parent-Teacher Association have been invited to attend.
Baltimore County police officer , the North Point station's community relations liaison, generally attends all the Norwood-Holabird Community Association meeting as well, Ayres said.
The next meeting of the Norwood-Holabird Community Association is scheduled for Sept. 26 from 7:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at Baltimore County Police Precinct 12, 1747 Merritt Boulevard.
