EDGEWATER, MD — Is there a certain kind of business that is missing in Edgewater? A type of restaurant you can't find in town? An activity that you have to travel miles away for? Or is there another specialty store you could use?

Edgewater Patch recently asked our Facebook followers which businesses they want to see open in town. Lots of you had food in mind, with suggestions for both chain restaurants and regional eateries, as well as food trucks. Unlike neighboring communities, one local suggested a state-of-the-art outdoor shooting range.

Grocery stores were a popular topic with several supporting an Aldi store at the old Giant store on Route 2. Loree Loftice Sanchez said, "I want to see the old Giant parking lot filled with different kinds of food trucks!"

A farm to table restaurant was another idea, or a farmers market with dairy, meats, produce, and plants. Reader Jarboe Hertzog said, "I'd like to see one that's open seven days a week year round, not just Sundays and some Tuesdays during the warm months."
