3 Lothian Business Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested
Two Lusby teenagers and a man from Upper Marlboro have been charged with robbing a Dash In store and a Dunkin' Donuts in Lothian.

LOTHIAN, MD — Two Lusby teenagers and a man from Upper Marlboro have been charged with robbing a Dash In store and a Dunkin' Donuts in Lothian on Dec. 10, Anne Arundel County Police said. Daniel Shane McDonald, 49, of the 10300 block of Lord Nelson Street in Upper Marlboro, faces 20 criminal counts including armed robbery, robbery, assault and theft.
A 16-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy, both from Lusby, were charged on juvenile citations.
The first hold-up happened about 12:30 a.m. at the Dash Inn at 1378 Mount Zion Marlboro Road in Lothian. Store employees said three suspects armed with knives came into the business and demanded money and cigarettes. The employees gave the robbers the items and the suspects fled in an unknown direction.

A group of four armed robbers held up the Dunkin' Donuts at 5408 Southern Maryland Boulevard in Lothian shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday. Workers told police that four suspects in their mid-teens to early 20s came into the store carrying knives, and demanded money. The employees complied and the suspects ran out of the business.
There were no injuries reported in either hold-up.

Detectives believe a fourth suspect who is not yet identified was also involved in the robberies. Anyone with information on the fourth person is asked to call police at 410-222-4720 or the department's tip line at 410-222-4700.
