Art Show - Arundel Lodge

We are having an exciting art show at Arundel Lodge on Friday Nov 14 from 6-8. Members and friends of the Open Eye Gallery will be showing their work at a show entitled” Reflections, Celebrating the Artistic Identity of a Healing Community”. Music, food and drinks, and a workshop will be available. Admission is free. Our goal is to showcase the creative talents of the Arundel Lodge community as a whole - artists receiving services, volunteers, staff - anyone connected to the Lodge, and to highlight the healing power of the arts and creativity. The show will run from November 14th - January 9, 2015.

During the summer, we began (with the financing of Unity Gardens) phase one of our Serenity Garden. The second phase that we are in the process of raising funds, is truly amazing. We will create a reflection tree, a metal sculpture created with the help of two local artists- Bob Benson and Rick Ames. Their work is also seen at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. From the tree will hang “flashies,” beautiful strands of colored and regular mirror. A workshop to make “flashies” will be available at the art opening on the 14th. This will be a collaborative project as we are inviting everyone to help make the flashies which will become a part of the sculpture.
