Blood donations routinely drop off during and after the winter holidays, which makes National Blood Donor Month in January so important.
DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — It's time to roll up those sleeves, kick back and save a life. January is National Blood Donor Month and Davidsonville United Methodist Church will be hosting a blood drive Jan. 30 from 2 to 7 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting www.redcrossblood.org and entering sponsor code: davidsonvilleumc or call 1-800-733-2767.
Blood donations routinely drop off during and immediately after the winter holidays, which makes National Blood Donor Month in January a critical time for the American Red Cross. According to the Red Cross, the organization must collect more than 13,000 donations every day to keep the blood supply ready and available to meet the needs of about 2,600 hospitals, clinics and cancer centers across the country.
