2012 Lake Placid, Days 2 and 3

Days 2 and 3 of the lacrosse trip. Not much lacrosse these days.

In the early morning hours at South River High School, 44 players and 4 coaches convened for their departure to Lake Placid.

Of course, nothing prepared the players for the drug dog that was brought to check out the players' bags and equipment for anything that may prevent the player(s) to get on the bus and head for the lacrosse tournament of the Summer.  The players knew the consequences and all abided by the rules, and that drug sniffing dog did not find anything.

All now was a go for all the players and coaches. I guess Coach Greg Speed, Anne Arundel County police officer, wasn't kidding when he said their would be a drug dog and that we need not show up if we were bringing any drugs or alcohol.

As we got situated on the bus, we all talked about the dog and how disciplined he was as he checked all our bags. We got up to the hotel around 7 p.m.—making it a 10 hour ride.

Day 3, we woke up nice and early to catch the bus so we could go on a white water rafting trip on the Indian and Hudson rivers. It was a 5-hour trip down the river. Everybody got a nice amount of sun. Lots of sunburn on people.

Then we ended the day with an hour long practice. It was nice to use our sticks up here and get us all working hard. Nice day and games start tomorrow.
