2nd Annual Jake Bender Youth Football Camp and Fall Football

Who's thinking about football in May? The NFL and the South River Youth Athletics (SRYA) that's who! The 2011 football season is kicking off again with the 2nd Annual Jake Bender Youth Football Camp.

The SRYA will be hosting its 2nd Annual Jake Bender Youth Football Camp on June 25, 2011 at Edgewater Park from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Everyone throughout the county is invited to participate in this full day of football fun. Youth players interact with coaches from youth and high school organizations as well as high school players as they focus on skills and techniques. Jake Bender, offensive lineman for the Carolina Panthers, will be on hand to share his experiences and knowledge with participants. Special guest Vince Anderson, from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will also be there for support and encouragement throughout the day.

This is a great opportunity for kids and their families who have never played football to try it out for a day and to meet experienced youth players, coaches and other football families. This is also a great time for families and kids to reconnect for the upcoming fall football season. Registration is $40 and includes lunch, a T-shirt and shorts.

The SRYA will be opening registration for their fall football program May 1, 2011. The SRYA has a great football program boasting three county championships last season. Coaches put an emphasis on safety and technique and players learn the value of teamwork while developing self-confidence through personal achievement. SRYA football has teams for ages 6-14. Registration fee is $165 plus a refundable equipment fee of $150.
