BLOG: I'll be Rockin' Those Mom Jeans!

Dearest Mom,

Another Mother's Day is upon us, they come faster and faster each year.

We will continue to bring you new joys and pleasures as we normally do.

Once again, we cannot afford expensive gifts but, we'll be thinking of you!

With Mother's Day approaching, I sent my husband a link to buy me a ticket to see Joan Rivers in June. Short and to the point!

With a gift like that, there are noo worries about the size not being right, or the color or anything. I am past the point of cute hand prints and popsicle stick frames.

Last year I proclaimed I want things in "small" boxes, preferably little blue ones, (think Tiffany's)! This suggestion went in and out of three sets of ears rather quickly!

With all of this said, my husband told me they had already bought me clothes.

With horrified thoughts of me opening a box with MOM jeans inside and having to pretend like I love them, I quickly entered panic mode!

All I could picture was my 10th grade typing teacher looking like Fred Mertz with her "blouse" tucked in.

"Honey" he said, "Not to worry, you will like what we bought you." Oh, but I do worry!

"How about we just go out for dinner instead of the clothes," I replied. We'll do that too, this way you can wear the outfit we bought you.

You mean there's more? You didn't get me shoes to match did you?

"Just wait until Sunday, you'll be pleasantly surprised," he said.

I can't wait, I'll be rock'n MOM jeans with "Sensible" shoes to the early bird special at the buffet! How did I get to this point in life?

Why can't we just register for Mother's Day gifts like we do for weddings, it would be so much easier!

Happy Mothers Day to all of you, and as all of us mothers know, our kids are the best gifts of our lives!
