Cheesesteak Chowdown - Wawa

If you're on the go, a Wawa cheesesteak won't let you down.

Sarah:  Stop five on the Chowdown was a quick cheese steak from WAWA. These are my go to cheese steaks for on the run. WAWA cheese steaks are decent, but nothing to go crazy about. The steak was not too greasy but was also not too dry. The cheese to meat ratio was fine. However, the rolls are always great.  Why wouldn't they be when they come directly from one of the best known bakeries in Philly? Amarosa rolls from the Amarosa bakery beat any locally baked roll, even a few days old. Gotta love WAWA. Overall I give it a  3.2 out of 5 on our top-secret rating scale.

Madeline:  Although my mom really wanted to go to Bayside, we just didn’t have the time. We had to make a quick stop and Wawa was on the way. This was the first cheesesteak we had that was not after a long field hockey workout. Considering this cheesesteak was basically from a gas station and I wasn’t starving, I thought it was pretty good. I liked that the cheese was on the bottom and not just laid over the top so I almost got cheese in every bite. I thought it was a little greasy, but it wasn’t dripping down my hand (oddly, I kind of liked it because it added some flavor). Another dilemma was that obviously coming from Wawa, the sandwich came wrapped. I think this took away from my appearance score. The dilemma is that the bread was a little smooshed but on the plus side that helped to keep all the steak from falling out, which is a big bonus for me.  Not only do I like my cheese and steak to mingle, but I like my steak to stay in the bread and not be falling out of the roll. Although this was a quick stop, I really enjoyed this cheesesteak. My whole family ate at Wawa that day and there were no complaints. If you’re in a hurry, Wawa would be a good choice. Overall I give it a  4 out of 5 on our top-secret rating scale.

Although our scores are lower for Wawa, I would still eat there if I need a quick meal. I think the appearance really lowered the score.
