Cheesesteak Chowdown—Stan & Joe's

We have made a drastic mistake on the Cheesesteak Chowdown tour of duty...we forgot to take a picture of the cheesesteak.

... please forgive us!!! We are hoping you cut us some slack because, again, we were starving. It was a late dinner after our first field hockey scrimmage against Archbishop Spalding.

Madeline: This cheesesteak was very good. I thought that the overall taste of the cheesesteak was really flavorful!!! The appearance of it was nice (you will have to take my word for it...remember, forgot the picture). There was a good amount of cheese intermingled (that word was my mom's suggestion) with the meat.  One of the bad things about this cheesesteak was that the bread was toasted.

I know some people may like this but because there was a lot of meat on the sandwich when I tried to squeeze the bread together to take a bite, the bread broke and the meat fell out. It was a bit messy to eat but still pretty good. The cheesesteak was not overly greasy and smelled, well, like a cheesesteak. Overall I give it a  4.1 out of 5 on our top-secret rating scale. 

Sarah: After our first Field Hockey scrimmage as South River Seahawks, I was once again, starving. We agreed to make our third stop of the Cheese Steak Chowdown at Stan and Joe's. So far, this was my favorite steak. 

It was very flavorful and the cheese was plentiful and  well distributed throughout the steak. The quality of the steak was good and was not too greasy. The roll was OK but the cheese steak itself was served with the bottom of the roll split open which made it messy to eat. This just might be my "go to" for carry out cheese steaks. Overall I give it a  4.2 out of 5 on our top-secret rating scale. 

ps—We also had a guest Chowdown reviewer. We could not divulge our top-secret rating scale to her so her main input was that she also did not like the toasted bun as it made the cheesesteak messy.

All this being said...we all finished all of our cheesesteaks!!!
