Football Thank Yous From The Jake Bender Camp
Thank you to everyone who made the Jake Bender Football Camp a great success! If you're looking for more football before the season starts, then check out the Little Pro Football Camp.
The SRYA Jake Bender Camp held on 25 June turned out to be another great success. The weather cooperated and gave us tolerable heat as opposed to last year when the heat index reached close to 100 degrees. The volunteers had a great time working with the kids and the day ran smoothly. I was impressed with Jake Bender and the way he totally immersed himself in the camp. The kids loved to be around him and I would bet that before the day was over that he probably spoke to every child on that field which is a huge deal when you're a young football player. Maybe we'll see some more NFL players come out of Edgewater Park in the future!
Thank you to Edgewater Fitness manager, Jeff, and his volunteers who helped on the field and donated water bottles to all the kids. Thank you to our field volunteers from Towson University, South River High, and Brown University. Thank you to the SRYA coaching staff and their volunteers. Thank you to the The Steakhouse in Edgewater for the incredibly well organized lunch. Thank you to Rita's for providing coupons to everyone. That was our first stop when we left the field. Thank you to Sam's Club for providing all the fruit the kids munched on throughout the day. Finally, thank you to Kevin Stokes who organized the entire event. It was a great day of football and it only gets better every year.

The Gambrills, MD session is 9-11 July with registration closing today, 7 July. The Owings, MD session is 12-14 July and registration is currently open online. The Little Pro Football Camp offers instruction from varsity coaches from Arundel High, South River High, DeMatha, Spalding, Annapolis Area Christian, Gilman School, Meade and many others.
