Is My Joan Rivers Ticket in Your New Bag?

Father's Day Humor

In the big picture, my husband really is a good guy, and a great father! My kids idolize him in the way that some idolize Tatum Channing!

He goes along with their nonsense, does things that I don't or won't do, (no wonder they adore him right?) He is a "yes" man to our kids! Said kids being 15 and 17.

In 17 years he has never asked for a gift. Fathers Day to him is really about spending the day with our kids. Great!, take them out and let me have a 2nd Mother's Day to myself!

I remember one year the kids gave him a basketball hoop that attaches to your head, not only did he love it, he sat there for hours while the kids threw ping pong size balls trying to score big . The only one who scored was my husband, with black eyes and bruises! He was in heaven!?! Obviously, it does not take Home Depot orange boxes to please him.

Again, he is a good guy, hard working, so much so that he hasn't a clue I am writing about him right now, he's out there pounding the pavement to put a roof over our heads, with a 3 car garage, a pool, perhaps a tennis court, and this is just for our vacation home! See, while he is out putting forth sweat equity, I sit home and day dream!

This year however, when the kids asked him what he wanted, he not only had an answer, he printed out a picture of the very nice tennis bag we wants! Really? Will my Joan Rivers ticket be hiding in the side pocket? Ahhh.... Is this a game of you get what you give? With this said, did everyone else enjoy the Joan Rivers show? Please let me know about the wonderful evening you had! HaHa!

My kids were all over the picture, they searched Sports Authority, Dick's and other sites to see where they could buy that bag and how much it would set mom back, notice I said "mom", not said kids. They truly honor my ATM card. Gladly handing over my ATM card, they took off to buy the must have tennis bag. I think this is a small price to pay for my vacation home, don't you?

To all of the dad's out there, have a great Father's Day, no matter how young or old your kids are, enjoy the day with them. Eat the Sugar Smacks they "cook" you for breakfast with a smile, don't worry about the mess, call in the Maid Brigade, your wife has an ATM card right?

To ALL of the dad's fighting for our freedom right now, you are in our thoughts and prayers on this Father's Day, come home safe!
