SRYA 13U Closes Football Season With A Championship Win

SRYA 13U celebrates their 2011 Division III championship as football season comes to a close.

Football season is a long season. The boys begin in the blazing, hot days of July and end in the cold, dark nights of November. The players work hard. They warm-up, they practice and they scrimmage.

Weeks of evaluations and pre-season practices lead to the beginning of the official games in late August. Every game leads the teams to the play-off games which brings them closer to the season's ultimate goal...the county championship.

This year South River Youth Athletics (SRYA) football program had their 70lbA, 70lbB, 100lb, 12U and 13U teams move forward to the second round of play-off games. The 100lb team played against Andover and the 13U team met Old Mill in their county championship games.

Both teams played outstanding games and 13U walked away with the Division III county championship. Congrats to both teams for playing in the county championship games as well as to all of the SRYA football teams who committed themselves, stayed focused and played their best. Thank you to the coaches and volunteers who devoted so much time to the football program and the kids.

The 2012 SRYA football season will begin in late July. It's a great program that's always looking for some great players.
