SRYA Cheer Is Fundraising In February

The SRYA cheerleaders are finding fun through fundraising in February!

The South River Youth Athletics (SRYA) Winter Cheerleaders are reaching into their idea bag and pulling out some great fundraisers. There's something for everyone throughout February. The cheerleaders count on fundraising money to help offset the costs of competitions as well as to acquire equipment to help keep the girls safe during practices. The cheerleaders appreciate the support of the Edgewater community and they're doing a fantastic job of showing what SRYA cheer is all about. Keep up the great work girls!

A Day At The Steakhouse - The Steakhouse will be hosting the SRYA Cheer fundraiser on Tuesday, Feb. 7. This is an all day fundraiser to raise money to help with team and individual registration fees for their Virginia Beach National Competition in March. It's a great excuse to hop out for lunch or arrange a date night or just get the family together in one place to share a meal. The Steakhouse has great food too and amazing wings. They have take-out which is also a great option. There will be special appearances by the SRYA cheerleaders as they open doors and greet everyone. The girls will be dressed in all of their Seahawk splendor so stop by to grab some eats, congratulate the cheer team on their most recent wins and wish them luck in March.

SRYA Cheer Valentine's Dance - The SRYA cheer parents are hosting a Valentine's Dance on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Londontown Hall from 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Funds from this event will go towards more mats for practice safety. The Valentine's Dance is open to ages 9-15 and the entry fee is $7. There will be a DJ and refreshments. Beverages will be 75 cents and snacks will be  50 cents. RSVPs are fervently being requested by Feb. 10. Please email sryacheer@gmail.com. Legal guardians are required to drop off and pick up attendees. A signed medical waiver form is also required at drop off. Once again, please RSVP by Feb. 10 to help facilitate planning for this event.

Pizza Cards - This is a really great fundraiser and one that everyone can participate in. The SRYA cheerleaders are selling Vocelli pizza cards. They are $10 each and are accepted in both Edgewater and Glen Burnie. The cards allow the user to receive a free pizza for every one pizza they buy. Buy 1 pizza...get 1 free. Buy 5 pizzas...get 5 free. The cards won't expire until January 2013 and each card can be used 20 times. The cards pay for themselves with their first use! Pizza cards would be great gifts for teachers or PTA members. There are many pizza functions in schools. Another great idea is for sports teams for season banquets. With an expiration date of 2013, they've got SRYA Spring (registration now open!) and Fall sports covered! Save some money and help out our cheer team. If you'd like a pizza card, then please contact a winter cheerleader or email sryacheer@gmail.com. Buyers will receive activated cards at time of purchase with payment.

The SRYA cheerleaders have a busy February, but are eager to work hard to support their team. Get out there and show them you are too!
