County to Host Conference Cultivating Literacy Leaders
The conference is open to the public, and set for Oct. 9 at Carver Staff Development Center in Gambrills.

The Anne Arundel County Reading Council and Maryland Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development are hosting a mini-conference titled “Cultivating Literacy Leaders” from 4:30 to 8 p.m. October 9.
The conference will be held at the Carver Staff Development Center, 2671 Carver Road in Gambrills.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Peter Afflerbach. Speakers will discuss literacy topics that are of interest to teachers in grades K-12 such as CCSS shifts in writing, supporting ELAs in the classroom and more. A light dinner will be served.
