Crofton Turns 50: Food, History, Halloween Parade Set This Weekend
Tickets are selling out for Saturday's event at Crofton Country Club. Other events include a kids' Halloween parade and interfaith service.

Tickets are going fast for the Saturday, Oct. 25, Oktoberfest/Coming Home party that celebrates Crofton’s 50th anniversary. There is also a lecture at Linthicum Walks, and an interfaith church service during the weekend as part of the festivities.
Raffle tickets are on sale for a jersey signed by the entire Caps team.

Friday, Oct. 24
Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce presents 50 Years of Volunteers, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Crofton Country Club, $25 cost, deadline for reservations was Oct. 20.

Saturday, Oct. 25
11 a.m. Kiwanis Halloween Parade. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Crofton Country Club parking lot.
2 p.m. Linthicum Walks. (see details below)
5-10 p.m. Coming Home Party/Oktoberfest at Crofton Country Club. $20 tickets must be purchased in advance and includes food. Beer will be sold for $4 and wine for $5. Entertainment includes a band, photo booth, beer stein holding contest, pretzel eating contest, and yodeling contest. Send an email to Croftonturns50@yahoo.com for ticket purchases.
Sunday, Oct. 26
Interfaith service, 3 p.m., St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1800 Seton Drive, Crofton. Special music offered by Crofton Community Adult and Children’s Choirs, Community Hand Bell and Praise Bands, organ, harp, brass. Brief reception afterward. Free to attend.

Historic Linthicum Walks
As part of the 50th anniversary events, the Friends of Historic Linthicum Walks will host a lecture and walking tour of the farm property located off of Davidsonville Road in Gambrills and adjacent to Crofton Middle School.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, Joseph L. Browne will present a lecture. He is the author of “From Sotweed to Suburbia: A history of Crofton, MD.”
Tickets must be purchased in advance, seating is limited. Mail $10 with a check payable to FHLW, 1557 Eton Way, Crofton, MD 21114.
Participants will receive a book or brass image of Linthicum Walks.
