Cypress Creek Therapy 'Practice of the Year' by Advance Magazine

in Severna Park and Edgewater, owned by Brian and Lisa Gallagher, is the recipient of the Advance Magazine “Practice of the Year” award for 2011, according to a CCT press release.

CCT was selected from about 28,000 entries from across the country for its excellence in customer service, revenue growth, practice growth, staff development and patient care.

The couple, who reside in Florida, established the practice in 2000 in Severna Park and expanded it to Edgewater in 2002.

“To be identified as the most outstanding and unique caregiver is a major acknowledgment for Cypress Creek Therapy. Offering physical, occupational, speech and aquatic therapy for children and adults in one location, truly makes us a family provider," Denise Muncie, CCT CEO, said in a press release.

"Having our practice recognized at a nationwide level, makes this an overwhelming honor and achievement.” 

Joe Ankenbrand, clinical director for CCT, with the practice for 10 years, said what sets the practice apart is its diversity in therapy disciplines and a holistic approach for pediatrics and adults, allowing for better, faster results.

"We are the only practice in Anne Arundel and surrounding counties that provide a multidisciplinary approach to therapy so that we can treat the entire family in one location," he wrote in an email to Patch.

CCT is among the few practices in Anne Arundel County that offers aquatic therapy sessions to aid in patients’ rehabilitation. In addition, it recently introduced a youth fitness program.

Ankenbrand said in an email to Patch that their celebration on winning the award will focus on the "great group of employees and management team that collaborated to put us on top."
