DUI Stop Yields Drug Charges: Police
Anne Arundel County Police say a traffic stop in Lothian ended with three people's arrest on drug distribution charges.

A suspected drunk driver was pulled over by Anne Arundel County Police for driving the wrong way, and the case turned into a drug bust.
An officer on patrol in the area of Solomons Island Road and West Bay Front Road Friday night reportedly saw a Toyota Camry traveling southbound in the northbound lane of Solomons Island Road. Police say that when an officer stopped the car, the driver would not comply with direct orders from the officer. The driver, identified as Eric Smith, got out of the car and was fumbling around his vehicle while two other people remained inside the car.

Police arrested all three suspects after officers saw a baggie containing 15.60 grams of cocaine valued at $1,560 on the floor of the car.

- Eric Jovon Smith, 34, of Dunkirk, who was charged with DUI, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute and possession of CDS: not marijuana
- Crystal Kay Sweeney, 33, of Huntingtown, who was charged with possession of CDS with the intent to distribute and possession of CDS: not marijuana
- Page Darnell Jones, 39, of Sunderland, who was charged with possession of CDS with the intent to distribute and possession of CDS: not marijuana
