Edgewater Business Helps Fund Breast Cancer Vaccine

Nealey Auto Service in Edgewater is one of more than 200 shops across the country raising money for a breast cancer vaccine.

EDGEWATER, MD — Nealey Auto Service in Edgewater will be teaming up with more than 200 other independent auto repair shops across the country to raise money for a breast cancer vaccine as part of the Brakes for Breasts fundraiser. During the month of October, Nealey Auto Service and other participating businesses will be giving away free brake pads or shoes.

Customers only have to pay for the labor and other ancillary parts necessary, then 10 percent of the brake job will be donated directly to Dr. Vincent Tuohy and the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund. This is the ninth year for this fundraiser, which has grown from raising $10,000 at five shops in Ohio to 138 independent auto repair shops in 34 states and two countries raising $141,061.80.

These are just 'mom and pop' shops across the country, independent business owners that have
joined hands for a great cause," said owner AJ Nealey.
