First Friday at South River Colony Main Street

August brings a festival, 'Cruisin Main Street,' to the Edgewater shopping center.

South River Colony Main Street will continue its summer tradition of "First Friday" festivals on August 5-6 with a "Cruisin Main Street" summer fun and car show on Friday and Saturday.

The festivals started in May, and have continued each month with a different theme.

From 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday night, enjoy free childcare courtesy of East Coast Martial Arts. The restaurants and stores in the shopping center will be offering dining and shopping specials. There will also be a free concert and a 50/50 raffle.

The fun continues on Saturday with an open air market, drawings, entertainment, obstacle course, rock wall, dunk tank, water attraction, carnival games, prices and concessions. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. enjoy a car show with awards for best car, truck, motorcycle and convertible ($15 entry, with a portion of proceeds benefitting Driven to Survive).

There will also be a grand prize of a Hibachi table for 12 donated by Fuji Steakhouse with complimentary childcare by East Coast Martial Arts.
