Former Edgewater Teacher Faces Child Porn Charges

Anne Arundel County Police say Linthicum man now teaches in the Baltimore school system. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

A former Edgewater middle school teacher who is now a teacher in Baltimore is charged with possessing and distributing child pornography, according to police.

Anne Arundel County Police say an investigation into online child pornography distribution led to a search warrant being executed on April 10 at a residence in the 300 block of North Hammonds Ferry Road in Linthicum. During the search, detectives reportedly seized computer equipment that contained images of child pornography.

Suspect Dan Kevin Scott, 50, of the 300 block of North Hammonds Ferry Road in Linthicum, was arrested and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of distribution of child pornography.

Police say Scott is currently a teacher for the Baltimore City Public Schools and teaches at Patterson High School. Previously, he taught at Central Middle School in Edgewater.
