Half-Day Pre-Kindergarten Will Start this Fall in Riviera Beach
Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open 4 new half-day pre-kindergarten sites in the 2015-2016 school year.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open four new half-day pre-kindergarten sites in the 2015-2016 school year, according to an AACPS announcement.
Sites will be established at Riviera Beach, Overlook, Odenton, and Severn elementary schools. Each site will accommodate up to 40 children, who will be split into morning and afternoon sessions.
Registration for these sites will open on Monday, May 4. Registration must be done in person at the school in which the child will be enrolled.

Children enrolling in pre-kindergarten must be 4 years old by Sept. 1. The following documents are required when registering a child for pre-kindergarten:
- The child’s original birth certificate or birth record
- A copy of the child’s immunization record
- Two proofs of residency (rental or mortgage agreement and current utility bill)
Public pre-kindergarten programs in Maryland are designed to improve the school readiness of children who are economically disadvantaged or homeless. If seats remain, schools may enroll students with other readiness needs. Those applying for pre-kindergarten due to economic need must provide income eligibility verification by submitting one of the following:

- Federal Income Tax Return (1040 statement) along with documentation related to other sources of income such as child support and/or rental income
- Current award letter for Temporary Cash Assistance or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

AACPS operates 44 other pre-kindergarten sites across the county. Registration for those sites opened in February.
