Huge Davidsonville Home Damaged By Fire: Officials

A 15,000-square-foot Davidsonville home without access to public water caught on fire Nov. 5. Almost 90 firefighters battled the blaze.

DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — It took almost 90 firefighters more than an hour to contain a house fire in Davidsonville Tuesday night. The fire broke out just after 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at 2001 Rosetta Way. The fire engulfing the 15,000-square-foot two-story single-family home proved difficult to battle, because the home isn't located near public water and it is a sizable home, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department reported. Officials had to call in a water supply task force and trigger a second alarm.

Three additional fire departments responded to the fire, which officials believe started at the back of the home toward the garage area. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit. Five occupants of the home have been displaced and there were no injuries.
