Lothian Mobile Home Fire Displaces Five

Five people were displaced after a bathroom fire damaged their mobile home in Lothian Monday night, authorities say.

LOTHIAN, MD — An electrical fire in the bathroom of a mobile home has left five Lothian residents without a place to live, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials. No injuries were reported.

The fire was reported just before 8 p.m. by several callers who saw smoke coming from the windows of a double wide mobile home in the 100 block of Bobcat Court in the Lyons Creek Mobile Estates. Firefighters found smoke coming from the structures and a small fire in a bathroom was extinguished in less than 10 minutes.

Officials say the cause of the fire is accidental and believed electrical in nature with damages estimated at less than $1,000. The Red Cross was requested to assist five adults who were displaced.
