Motorcycle Crash With Serious Injuries Reported In Edgewater
A 69-year-old motorcyclist struck the side of an SUV and was ejected from his motorcycle. He was transported by helicopter to the hospital.
EDGEWATER, MD – Two accidents involving motorcycles and motor vehicles occurred May 21 in Edgewater and Millersville. In the first incident, a motorcyclist reported colliding with a motor vehicle in the area of Central Avenue East and Mayo Road in Edgewater. The motorcyclist struck the side of an SUV in the intersection and he was ejected, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
The 69-year-old man was transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to the R. Adams Cowley
Shock Trauma Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old female passenger in the SUV was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries. An 18-year-old female driver of the SUV sustained injuries but did not require hospital transport.
That same day, a motor vehicle collided with a motorcycle in the area of Benfield Boulevard and the ramp to I-97 North in Millersville. The 33-year-old male motorcyclist reported to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department that he was struck by the vehicle and thrown from his bike. The motorcyclist was transported by paramedics to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
