Need a Babysitter Friday Night? We Know Who to Call
Seahawk women's lacrosse team and Girl Scouts are hoping to help stressed-out parents on Friday.
Parents can get a night off on Friday, with the help of either the women's lacrosse team from South River High School or Girl Scout Troop 5782. Both groups are offering up a night of babysitting as a fundraiser.
And what parent couldn't use a night off at this time of year? Time to get a little shopping done, time to go out to dinner on a date with your mate. Even if it is a night to go back home and shop online, it may be be that extra hour you need to simplify your life.
Both groups are looking for elementary-aged children, so no newborns or toddlers who have not been potty-trained.

Scouts
The Girl Scouts are hosting their babysitting night in the community room of the Southern District Police Station, 35 Stepney Lane in Edgewater. They are asking that participants bring a sleeping bag, pillow and a favorite stuffed friend. They will serve pizza for dinner, do a craft and then watch a movie and have popcorn and drinks.
The scouts are hosting their event from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday. Pre-registration is required. Contact the troop via email with the name of children, ages and your contact information. Drop-ins are taken on a space-available basis.

Prepayment is available by MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Call Michelle Sloan for details at 410-991-6729.
Women's Lacrosse
The lacrosse girls are calling the night "Pajama Jam," and they're inviting kids to come in their PJs or "lazy clothes" to hang out with a fun group of people.
The event is open to students in grades one through five. The evening starts at 5:30 p.m. with pickup slated for no later than 9:30 p.m.
The entertaining evening includes dinner (pizza, snacks and drinks), games (board and video), movie, computer lab, dancing, karaoke and crafts.
The one hook is that the children and parents have to follow the same behavior rules set forth by Anne Arundel County Public Schools. If a child can't follow the rules, they can be ejected from the fun—and mom and dad don't get their money back.
Fees are as follows:
- $25 for one child; $5 for each additional child from the same family.
- Drop-ins will be welcome at a cost of $30 for one child and $6 for each additional child from the same family.
- A late charge will be assessed at $1/minute per child for any children picked up after 9:30 p.m.
