Pedestrian Severely Injured in Edgewater Accident
A Howard County pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Edgewater Tuesday; officials say the pedestrian was at fault in the accident.

EDGEWATER, MD — A Howard County pedestrian was severely injured after being hit by a car Tuesday night in Edgewater, say Anne Arundel County authorities.
The accident was reported just before 9:30 p.m. in the area of southbound Solomons Island Road near the intersection of Mayo Road.
Anne Arundel County Police say Samantha Nicole Prouty, 24, from Howard County was hit by a vehicle while walking at the intersection.

Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure says that investigators believe Prouty was at fault in the incident.
The name of the driver who struck Prouty has not been released.

A Maryland State Police helicopter was called to take Prouty to Shock Trauma with injuries that were serious, but not believed to be life-threatening.
