Public is Invited to Parvilla Cycles Grand Opening on Saturday

Stop by their Edgewater store for giveaways, prizes and an introduction of these small business owners to the community.

Although they have been open since the end of May, Parvilla Cycles in Edgewater is hosting a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday. The shop will be open for extended hours (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and will have education and information session, rides with a local pro, discounts and giveaways.

"Everything in the store will be on sale, at least ten percent off," said owner Stu Waring."Plus, we'll be giving away some great stuff, a bike, courtesy of Giant, accessories, shoes worth $200, all kinds of stuff."

To start the day, there will be a ride from the store led by Giant pro rider Jordan Kahlenberg. The ride will begin at 9 a.m. and will follow the same route as their Monday night "women's ride." It's a 23-mile route through south county.

Waring and co-owner Ian Banks want the store to become the go-to place or serious cyclists and triathletes.

Since opening, they have had an ongoing Monday night "women's only" ride at 5:30 p.m. and a co-ed ride at 6 p.m. For triathletes, they do a "brick" run after the store ride (3-4 miles).
