Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Its mission is to create opportunities that allow individuals to enjoy life, explore nature, and restore their health and well-being. The winter sports season may be coming to an end, but South River High School athletes are still busy. Both the swimming and wrestling teams will participate in post-season matches this weekend, and the boys and girls basketball teams will look to finish out their seasons strong. Here's a rundwon of the upcoming schedule for varsity sports teams: Thursday: <ul> <li>5 p.m.—Girls varsity basketball at Meade</li> <li>6:45 p.m.—Boys varsity basketball at Meade</li> </ul> Friday <ul> <li>4 p.m.—Varsity Wrestling, Anne Arundel County Individuals</li> </ul> Saturday <ul> <li>9 a.m.—Varisty Swimming, Regionals</li> <li>9 a.m.—Varsity Wrestling, Anne Arundel County Individuals</li> </ul>
