Shady Side Woman, 54, Dies After Single-Car Crash: Police
A Shady Side woman died in a weekend crash, police said. She was 54 years old.

SHADY SIDE, MD — Police announced that a woman died Sunday after a Shady Side crash. Officers identified the victim as 54-year-old Stacey Murphy Bishop of Shady Side.
Bishop was driving a 2003 Acura TL east on Snug Harbor Road approaching Idlewilde Road when the accident happened around 1:20 a.m. Authorities said the sedan went off the right side of the street for an unknown reason and went into a ditch. The car then hit a mailbox, overturned and struck a utility pole.
The driver, who was the only occupant, was partially ejected during the collision. A press release said the Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced her dead on the scene.

Authorities think the primary cause of the crash was the driver's failure to stay in a single lane. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
