South County Killing Ruled Homicide, Officers Seek Tips: Police
Police ruled the death of a south county woman, 58, a homicide. Officers asked for tips on the suspicious death in Tracys Landing.
TRACYS LANDING, MD — Police announced Tuesday that a suspicious death in Tracys Landing was a homicide. Officers noted that they found the body of 58-year-old Juanita Naomi Koilpillai Sunday in the 6300 block of Genoa Road. Medics pronounced her dead on the scene after apparent trauma, a press release added.
The investigation started around 3:28 p.m. when a boyfriend reported that his girlfriend was missing and that there was suspected blood in the home, the write-up mentioned. Authorities explained that they executed several search warrants and found preliminary evidence pointing toward a potential homicide.
The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy in Baltimore on Monday, officials informed. The examiner determined that the cause of Koilpillai's death was "multiple sharp force injuries with the manner being homicide," police said. Detectives think this was a targeted, not random, act of violence.

Investigators also shared that somebody found the victim’s missing vehicle in Leesburg, Virginia. Authorities indicated that they brought the vehicle back to Anne Arundel County to search it for more evidence.
Officers did not name a suspect, but they wrote that they would share more details as they become available.
